Where Design Meets History and the Stars.

A 16th-century townhouse on Valdštejn Square in Prague’s Malá Strana had long awaited a sensitive renovation. It finally got one and we got the honors to participate on the project. As part of the revitalization, we were tasked with naming the property and creating its entire visual identity, website, and mobile app.

The Brief and the Challenge

The rich history of the building and the life of Albrecht von Wallenstein, who commissioned its construction, offered many directions. But we wanted to avoid superficial historical clichés. So we dove into the building’s story, numerology, and astrology, a passion of Wallenstein’s, which ultimately inspired both the name and the entire creative concept of this refined residential development.

The Solution and Process

The name VII. Dům ("Seventh House") was born from astrological research. In astrology, twelve houses represent different areas of life. Wallenstein was born under Libra, which corresponds to the seventh house — a neat and meaningful connection.

The Result and Impact

The name VII. Dům visually merges with the constellation of Libra. Star shapes resemble typographic dots two of which playfully replace diacritics in the logotype. Astrological patterns extend into the brand’s visuals, used on print, digital, and even interiors like apartment numbering.

The colour palette draws from twilight tones: deep navy and warm orange. Copper foil adds a premium touch in print. The website follows this palette faithfully, completing the brand’s distinctive, elegant identity.
